A few months ago, our ISYS President & COO participated in a panel discussion with other leaders on “Empathy, Vulnerability, and Connection” for the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation “Leaders Connect”. The event as part of the Executives in Workers’ Compensation 2023 pre-conference program.

Leadership expert and Retired United States Air Force Colonel DeDe Halfhill opened the event with a keynote presentation on ‘how the words we choose and the empathy we convey has the power to not only save lives, but to deepen trust, increase resilience, and inspire courage in the organizations we lead.’

Following the keynote presentation, Colonel (Ret.) Halfhill moderated a fireside chat among three executive panelists in workers’ compensation, including Alysha Loumakis-Calderon, ISYS President. The panelists opened up about their individual leadership styles and experiences of how empathy and vulnerability have helped build connections and foster a culture of trust in their organizations.
